Transport from/to airport

The legal points of entry to the Republic of Cyprus are the Larnaca International Airport and the Pafos International Airport (http://www.hermesairports.com). Useful information for transport from/to airport:

1) Shuttle bus services

Shuttle bus services run to and from the Larnaca International Airport and Nicosia, and ticket costs 8 Euros each way (for further information, you may visit: http://www.kapnosairportshuttle.com). The distance between Larnaca International Airport and Nicosia is approximately 45 minutes. The shuttle bus will transfer passengers to the shuttle bus station in Nicosia; participants will then have to take a taxi or bus to transfer to their accommodation site. A taxi ride will approximately cost €10 since the shuttle bus station is in short distance from most the city center hotels. Participants should follow a similar process (bus or taxi ride to the shuttle bus station) for their transport to airport.

2) Taxi services

Taxi is the other way for transport from/to the airport. Taxi can be booked on arrival and/or on departure. Prices for taxis range depending on destination. Indicatively, the lowest price for a single ride from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia and vice versa is around €40-€50.

Getting around

Public Transport

The only type of public transport in Republic of Cyprus is bus/minibus. Tickets may be purchased on the bus and paid directly to the driver, in the case of a One-way ticket (€2.00) or a Night ticket (€3.50). You have to visit a sales office for more ticket options.

You can also download Pame Mobile App to plan your journey when using Cyprus Public Transport.

Taxi Services

Taxi is another way to get around Nicosia and Cyprus. Charging is always estimated by a taximeter. The initial charge is €3.42 (06:01 pm-20:30 am) and €4.36 (20:31 am-06:00 pm). The fare per kilometer is €0.73 and €0.85 respectively.

Please note that in Cyprus, taxis are call-in services. There are different mobile apps via which it is possible to call a taxi.
